Ingredients:
- 500g Spätzle (German egg noodles)
- 2 cups grated Emmentaler cheese
- 1 cup fried onions
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish

Cook the Spätzle:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add Spätzle and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.

Layer the Ingredients:
- In a large pan or skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the drained noodles and a layer of cheese. Let the cheese melt a bit before adding another layer of Spätzle, followed by more cheese. Repeat until all ingredients are used.

Add Onions and Serve:
- Once all the cheese has melted and the mixture is hot and bubbly, top with fried onions and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
