Chicken Quiche

Chicken Quiche

Ingredients

For the crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4–5 tbsp cold water

For the filling:

  • 1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 1 tsp chicken seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil leaves (chopped)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your choice)
  • 1/2 cup diced vegetables (optional: onions, spinach, or bell peppers)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk or cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust:

    • In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add cold butter and combine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Gradually add cold water and mix until the dough comes together.
    • Roll out the dough and press it into a 9-inch pie dish. Chill for 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare the filling:

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a mixing bowl, combine cooked chicken, chicken seasoning, paprika, and basil leaves.
    • Spread the chicken mixture, cheese, and vegetables evenly in the prepared crust.
    • In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the filling.
  3. Bake:

    • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the quiche is golden brown and the filling is set.
    • Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
  4. Serve:

    • Serve warm or at room temperature, with a side salad or on its own.
