Roasted Latin Style Pork Shoulder

Roasted Latin Style Pork Shoulder

Ingredients

  • 1 (6 lb.) pork shoulder, skin on
  • 1 large Spanish onion, roughly chopped
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
  • 1/3 cup iSpice World FlavorsTM Latin Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • fresh lime wedges as garnish
  • tortillas for serving (10 at 12g each)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a roasting pan with a wire rack.

Step 2

Puree onions, cilantro, iSpice World FlavorsTM Latin Seasoning, olive oil and vinegar until a smooth paste is formed.

Step 3

Score the pork shoulder through the skin making hatch marks.

Step 4

Rub the marinade into the pork, massaging it into every nook and cranny.

Step 5

Place the pork in roasting pan on wire rack. Pour 2 cups water into bottom of roasting pan.

Step 6

Roast the pork for 4-5 hours, turning the pork every hour for best results. Add more water if needed.

Step 7

Finish roasting the pork skin-side up at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until dark brown and crispy. Pork should be falling apart.

Step 8

Serve pork roughly chopped into big pieces with fresh lime and tortillas.
