Roasted Pears with Vanilla Yogurt

Roasted Pears with Vanilla Yogurt

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or almonds (optional, for garnish)
  • Greek yogurt or vanilla yogurt, for serving

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Place the pear halves, cut-side up, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix maple syrup and ground cinnamon. Brush the cut sides of the pears with the maple cinnamon glaze.

Step 4

Roast the pears in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and caramelized. The cooking time may vary depending on the ripeness of the pears.

Step 5

While the pears are roasting, prepare your yogurt. If using plain Greek yogurt, you can sweeten it with a little maple syrup and add a splash of vanilla extract.

Step 6

Once the pears are done, remove them from the oven. Let them cool slightly. Arrange the roasted pear halves on serving plates. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the baking sheet over the pears.

Step 7

Garnish the pears with chopped pecans or almonds if desired. Serve warm with a dollop of vanilla yogurt on the side.
