Slow Roasted Brisket and Caramelized Onions
Ingredients

2 tbsp canola olive oil, divided

1 large Spanish onion, halved & thinly sliced

2 large red onions, halved & thinly sliced

3 1/2 lbs. beef brisket, trimmed

4 tbsp iSpice WellnessTM Meat Sauce Seasoning*

3 cups low-sodium beef broth
-
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
-
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Directions
Step 1
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Cook onions, stirring occasionally for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove onions from pan and reserve.
Step 2
Wipe clean the pan. Heat remaining oil in pan until smoking. Sear beef on all sides until dark brown. Remove from pan and reserve.
Step 3
Place the brisket in a slow cooker and smother with onions.
Step 4
Mix together the iSpice WellnessTM Meat Sauce Seasoning,* broth, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce and pour over brisket.
Step 5
Cook brisket in slow-cooker turned to LOW setting for 8 hours until very tender.
Step 6
Before serving, let brisket rest on WARM for 15 minutes.
Step 7
Serve hot over mashed potatoes.
