How to make baked honey ham

How to make baked honey ham

Ingredients

  • 1 (5-6 lb) bone-in ham
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

Step 2

In a small mixing bowl, combine the honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, orange juice, cinnamon, and cloves. Mix well to create a glaze.

Step 3

Place the ham in a large roasting pan, fat-side up. Use a sharp knife to score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern.

Step 4

Pour the glaze over the ham, using a brush or spoon to evenly coat the surface of the ham and work the glaze into the scored diamonds.

Step 5

Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil.

Step 6

Bake the ham in the preheated oven for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the internal temperature of the ham reaches 140°F (60°C). Check the temperature with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the ham, avoiding the bone.

Step 7

Every 30 minutes or so, remove the foil and use a spoon or baster to baste the ham with the glaze and any juices that have accumulated in the roasting pan.

Step 8

Once the ham is fully cooked and glazed, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Step 9

Serve the baked honey ham with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Step 10

Enjoy your delicious baked honey ham!
